Finding an artist in Opendate used to mean searching a grid of 54,000+ touring artists — which works fine if you already know who you're looking for. But booking is rarely that tidy. Everything from dates you’re trying to fill to where artists are touring to room size and more adds complexity to the process.

So, we rebuilt the Artists page from the ground up to make artist discovery easier and faster. Within Artist Discovery, you can now filter, see updates in real-time, and unlock Smart Suggestions: recommended artists you should consider reaching out to.

Newly designed, top to bottom

The new Artist Discovery is built on our Setlist design system, with dark mode and a faceted filter rail that actually reflects how talent buyers think.

Some data we’ve included:

  • Genre
  • Agency — updated through the agent record, which means more up-to-date data
  • History — whether you've booked the artist before
  • Status — on tour, or off tour
  • Last performed — date of most recent performance
  • Average draw and reach — over the last 12 months

Smart Suggestions: the shortlist you didn't have to build

Smart Suggestions gives you a ranked list of artists who've drawn well at venues comparable to yours — and that your team hasn't booked in the last 12 months. It's filtered to artists whose average draw actually fits your room, so you're not getting a headliner recommendation for a 300-cap club.

The reason this works is simple, and it's the whole point of Opendate’s all-in-one platform: your booking calendar and settled ticket history sits in one place. Suggestions like these only exist when those two things live together. No other platform is doing this — everything else makes you pull a name you already had. Opendate suggests names you didn't.

Records you can update

Bad data used to be something you could see but not touch. Not anymore. Hover the pencil to edit an artist's Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, or YouTube. Then hit Sync — one button refreshes follower counts and hunts down the social URLs you're missing.

For your marketing team, this matters more than it sounds: accurate socials feed your public site and your campaigns. Clean records in, clean promo out.

Who it's for

  • Talent buyers — find and vet acts faster, and surface ones you'd have missed
  • Show marketers — accurate socials that flow straight into your promo
  • Ticketing directors — clean artist records mean clean ticket builds

The new Artists page, discovery, and Smart Suggestions are live. Open Opendate and head to Discovery > Artists to try it — and if Smart Suggestions surfaces an act you end up booking, we'd genuinely love to hear about it.
