Nobool Presents is a Minneapolis-based independent booking company built on 70+ years of combined team experience and a deep belief that the Twin Cities scene deserves serious infrastructure behind it. Their roster spans intimate listening rooms, neighborhood theaters, and outdoor festival stages, each with its own personality, its own audience, and its own operational quirks.
When Nobool joined Opendate in December 2024, they were booking for two venues. Finding talent wasn't the problem. Filling rooms wasn't the problem. The problem was the digital duct tape.
Ticketing in one place. Booking in another. Marketing in a third. Spreadsheets bridging the gaps. Every new venue they took on meant another tab to keep open, another system to reconcile, another night their team spent on coordination instead of curation. The ambition was there. The infrastructure wasn't.
And the partner they were paying for ticketing, Eventbrite, had gone quiet on customer support after the pandemic, which made every issue feel twice as expensive.
They knew the next chapter, with more venues, more shows, and a bigger footprint across the Twin Cities, wasn't going to work if they kept running it the old way.
Nobool chose Opendate as their connected platform for ticketing, booking, and marketing. And they did something smart: they didn't try to flip everything at once. They started with Uptown VFW a 444 cap in Uptown Minneapolis. Then the 600 cap Under The Canopy outdoor music series. Finally integrating the entire Hook & Ladder Theater Event Center flagship complex on Minnehaha & East Lake. Three rooms under one roof (the main theater, an event center, and the outdoor Under The Canopy stage) made it the perfect proving ground.
They timed the move to expiring contracts, launching a handful of shows on Opendate at lower-stakes venues first so the team could learn the platform before the flagship's contract ran out — a phased rollout instead of a flag day.
"I was actively searching for efficiency. I couldn't believe that somebody had finally connected the dots: talent buying, offers, ticketing…all in one place. I knew it was possible, I was looking for it, and when I found it I was like, ‘oh, this is exactly what I need.’"

Once Hook & Ladder was running smoothly on a single platform, with ticketing tied to booking and marketing powered by real sales data, the playbook was obvious. They brought The Zen Arcade, Hotel Minnesnowta, Creekside Lounge, Hell's Kitchen, and more onto Opendate in rapid succession.
Same team. Same operational footprint. Three and a half times the venues.
Explosive Growth at Hook & Ladder (Q1 2025 → Q1 2026):

Most growth stories sound the same: add venues, add headcount, add systems, hope it all holds. Nobool wrote a different one. They built operational confidence at a single venue, learned what a connected platform could do for their business, and then expanded across the Twin Cities without adding the org chart most multi-venue operators take for granted.
"I don't have to stay up until 1 a.m. to approve a settlement anymore. I know my team is in good hands with the Opendate platform. Sleep, peace of mind — how important is that? You can’t put a price on it.
"Opendate has transformed our company. We are a better live event business than we were before Opendate."

In under 18 months: zero to $1M+, 445% ticket growth at their flagship, and 7 venues running on a single source of truth. That's not just scale. That's what happens when independent operators finally get infrastructure as serious as the work they're doing.
