On April 9, 2025, the Federal Trade Commission finalized its Junk Fees Rule, which goes into effect on May 10, 2025. The rule requires that the total price for live-event tickets, including all mandatory fees, be clearly shown up front and displayed more prominently than any partial pricing. Non-compliance could lead to civil penalties of up to $51,000 per violation.

Opendate already offers all-in pricing, and in venues where it’s been implemented, the transition has been smooth. We will ensure that every customer using our ticketing platform is compliant by the May deadline.

In accordance with the FTC’s requirements, Opendate will implement the following for all Opendate partners beginning May 9, 2025:

• All-in Pricing: Today that is a setting that can be enabled/disabled. After this change, it will be enabled by default with no way to disable. We will display the true total price up front, including any required fees, no extra configuration needed.
  
  
• Prominent Price Display: We’ll make sure the total price is the most visible price across your listings, as required by the new rule.
  
  
• Clear Fee Breakdown: If you use any additional fees, we’ll help you disclose them clearly and early, before fans check out.
