On April 9, 2025, the Federal Trade Commission finalized its Junk Fees Rule, which goes into effect on May 10, 2025. The rule requires that the total price for live-event tickets, including all mandatory fees, be clearly shown up front and displayed more prominently than any partial pricing. Non-compliance could lead to civil penalties of up to $51,000 per violation.
Opendate already offers all-in pricing, and in venues where it’s been implemented, the transition has been smooth. We will ensure that every customer using our ticketing platform is compliant by the May deadline.
