We’re looking for an experienced, high-velocity seller to join our high-performing go-to-market team. You’ll be responsible for executing the sales strategy, building and managing a sales pipeline, closing major deals, and growing revenue from both new business and expansion. You will report directly to the VP of Sales and partner closely with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Finance to drive predictable, scalable revenue growth.
At Opendate, we’re on a mission to help independent music venues build better businesses, keeping the music alive and thriving. Our journey began when three entrepreneurs, frustrated by disconnected tools, built the platform they wished existed. Today, we empower venues everywhere with smart, integrated solutions — from booking, to ticketing, and marketing.
Work Environment
- Work Model: 100% remote, with flexibility to collaborate in Indianapolis or Chicago quarterly and/or when needed.
- Work Travel: Regular domestic travel for sales meetings, customer meetings, partner events, industry conferences, and quarterly in-person sales off-sites.
Responsibilities
Own Deals and Target Accounts:
- Own a segment of target accounts (independent venues, promoters, and related live event organizations) while building a healthy top-of-funnel through outbound, referrals, and marketing-generated leads
- Run full-cycle deals: sourcing, discovery, qualification, product demos (with support as needed), proposals, negotiation, and closing
- Partner closely with the VP of Sales and broader team to refine our pitch, playbooks, and territory strategy
- Partner with Marketing to align on go-to-market messaging, lead hand-off, pipeline forecasting, and target account strategy.
Drive Revenue from new business and expansion:
- Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts (additional rooms, properties, or business lines) in partnership with the VP of Sales and Customer Success
- Work closely with Customer Success to ensure a smooth handoff and strong post-sale experience that sets renewals and upsells up for success
Own the system, not just the deals:
- Keep CRM up-to-date: activities, stages, forecasts, and notes
- Accurately forecast your pipeline and highlight risks early
- Share structured feedback from the field on messaging, objections, pricing, and product gaps
Contribute to how we sell:
- Establish and track key sales metrics (quota attainment, pipeline coverage, win/loss rate, average deal size, sales cycle length, retention) and report performance to leadership.
- Partner with Marketing on campaigns, target account lists, and follow-up plans for events and conferences
Requirements
- 5+ years of proven sales achievement in a high-growth B2B SaaS company and/or the live event/ticketing industry.
- Demonstrated track record of:
- Building and managing your own pipeline
- Closing net-new logos with mid-market or multi-stakeholder deals
- Hitting or exceeding quota consistently
- Strong enterprise deal closing experience: large ACV, multi-year contracts, complex sales cycles, multiple stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker who can also roll up sleeves and execute — comfortable both setting vision and diving into deal execution and team coaching.
- Highly organized and metrics-aware: you understand your own numbers and use them to improve
- Familiarity with CRM and sales tech stack (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and scaling sales operations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills: you’ll work cross-functionally (Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Finance) and present to executive leadership.
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment: you’re adaptable, organized, resilient and thrive in ambiguity.
What You’ll Get
- A remote-first, high-energy environment where your contributions will directly impact the trajectory of the business.
- Ownership of your pipeline and a chance to build something meaningful in the live event ecosystem.
- Significant professional growth opportunity: you will help shape the commercial function and be part of leadership as Opendate scales.
- Competitive base salary + substantial performance-based bonus and equity (depending on experience).
- Benefits include health, vision, dental, flexible PTO, 401(k) match, and remote-friendly policies.
- Travel for customer engagements, partner events, and team gatherings.
