What's changing On June 1, tickets sold through Opendate will start using a new, more secure barcode format. The updated Organizer app (released to the App Store and Google Play two weeks ago) can scan both the old and new formats, so it'll keep working seamlessly through the transition and beyond.
Why we're doing this The new format gives us better fraud protection, faster scan performance at the door, and a foundation for some upgrades we have planned later this year. It's a small change with a meaningful payoff for everyone scanning tickets on a busy night.
What you need to do Before May 15, make sure every phone or tablet your team uses to scan tickets is running the latest version of the Organizer app:
If you have multiple door staff or volunteers, now's a good time to send a quick reminder — anyone scanning with an outdated version on or after June 1 will see scans fail.
What happens if you don't update Devices running the old version of Organizer won't be able to scan tickets issued after June 1. To avoid door delays, please confirm your whole team is updated before your first show in June.
